Between the Acts by Virginia Woolf

Between the Acts was Virginia Woolf's last novel, published posthumously in 1941. In the four years since the appearance of The Years, Woolf's world had changed dramatically. The threat of fascism and the declaration of war seem absent in this apparently nostalgic evocation of English village life.

Yet beneath the surface there are some dark depths, slowly revealed as the novel progresses.

The course will run for six weeks, starting in the week beginning June 9th. At the mid-point we will take a diversion to discuss, briefly, some extracts from Woolf's other major work of this period, Three Guineas.

At the start of the week beginning June 2nd, we will send out an introductory video. After that, each week there will be another video and zoom sessions to discuss the text.

We look forward to seeing you!
